Australia's Shane Warne spins underpants range

SYDNEY — Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne has revealed his new secret weapon as he spins out his career in India -- his own range of underpants.

Following in the footsteps of fellow cricketer Michael Clarke, retired swimmer Ian Thorpe and football superstar David Beckham, Warne is launching his own men's range he helped design himself called "Spinners".

"Getting up in the morning and putting on a pair of underpants is important for me. And I think a lot of people think like that," he said.

Warne said he would be wearing the line -- which includes fitted trunks, hipster briefs and socks -- when he next takes the field and had already delivered some to the Australian team.

"I've sent some to Michael Clarke already and he's sent them straight back and said, 'I've got my own'." Warne said.

The peroxide blond sportsman, who also promotes a product which prevents baldness by replacing hair loss "strand by strand", said he had long been picky about his clothes.

"I have always been interested in fashion," he explained to journalists in Sydney. "I have always taken pride in my appearance and the way I look -- whether it be suit or jeans or whatever it is."

The legendary off-spinner, who retired from international cricket in January 2007 with a then world record 708 Test wickets, is now the captain-coach of Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals.
