Belstaff creative director departs amid brand overhaul

Published
May 30, 2018

British luxury brand Belstaff has appointed Sean Lehnhardt-Moore as its new creative director, as Delphine Ninous announces that she is leaving her position to pursue new opportunities.

British designerLehnhardt-Moorewill take on the position following previous experience in creative leadership roles at Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan and Bamford - Facebook: Belstaff

Ninous first started at the company in 2014, when she joined as vice president of women’s design. She later took on the position of creative director, overseeing the men’s and women’s collections and accessories.

Now, British designer Lehnhardt-Moore will take on the position following previous experience in creative leadership roles at Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan and Bamford to name a few.

The modern British heritage brand has seen a number of changes in the last year.

Last year, Belstaff was sold to chemicals company Ineos, whose owner was named Britain’s richest man in the latest Sunday Times Rich List. Meaning, Belstaff’s owner has the resources to support the brand’s growth ambitions.

In January, Belstaff CEO Gavin Haig, left the company to join Burberry. He was replaced by Helen Wright, the former CEO at Anya Hindmarch.

Belstaff was founded in 1924. The brand is known globally with stores in Europe, North America and Asia and employs around 200 people. It recently opened its first standalone stores in Japan and Canada.
