Bershka to open first US store in New York

Inditex brand Bershka is venturing into the US retail market with the opening of its first US location. a pop-up store in New York. The initiative follows the launch of Bershka’s US site in April.

The brand has yet to confirm when and where the pop-up store will open, but it is believed it will launch at the end of October to take advantage of the all-important Christmas trading period.

The store is expected to run for three months. Inditex has no further openings planned for Bershka in the US in the near future.

The fashion brand aimed at the younger consumer, also launched a country-specific site for Japan this year.

In the first half of the year, Bershka recorded sales of 1.01 billion euros ($1.2bn), up 14% on the previous year. The brand is Inditex’s second largest chain in terms of revenue after Zara.
