Diane Von Furstenberg Japanese partnership ends, to close all stores

Diane Von Furstenberg's Japanese partner Sanei International, a subsidiary of TSI Holdings, has decided to withdraw from the business.

The business has decided to end their contract with Diane Von Furstenberg during the fall/ winter 2017 season, ceasing their participation in the brand’s business development.

As soon as the fall/ winter 2017 season draws to a close, all Japanese stores will be closed indefinitely, although a concrete schedule has not yet been fixed.

Sanei plans to continue expanding the brand’s wholesale operations into the spring/ summer 2018 season but, following that, no decisions have been made as yet regarding what will happen to the brand’s Japanese operations.

The decision comes after a rocky few years for the American label, which has not had a CEO in over a year and which is currently on the lookout for investors to lead the brand into a new phase.
