The German supplier of scents and active ingredients for perfumery, cosmetics and dietary industries, Symrise, has announced that Heinz-Jürgen Bertram will take over as head of the company from the 1st of July. This nomination follows the announcement in December 2008 of the departuter of Gerold Linzbach, former CEO of the business, whose contract was not renewed by Symrise.

In 1990 Heinz-Jürgen Bertram joined the German suppliers Haarman & Reimer, which merged with Symrise in 2003. He held multiple management position in research and development before taking the reins of global operation of manufacturing for the group in 2005. Last year, he became the director of the flavor and nutrition department of Symrise.

“My objective is to develop and strengthen the assets of Symrise and to continue an innovative dynamic in order to produce new ideas and new encouragement necessary to continue on the route to success”, explained Heinz-Jürgen Bertram.
