Hunkemöller appoints new CFO

Michael Hitchcock has been named new CFO of Hunkemöller. The retail expert joined the Dutch lingerie company from LK Bennett in January , it was announced this week. Throughout his career, Hitchcock has been CEO of department stores chain Beale Plc and CFO of British menswear retailer Moss Bros Group Plc.

The former CFO Ron Hemmer will take up the newly created position of Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer. Hemmer will continue to drive Hunkemöller’s strategic plns to build a global omnichannel brand.

“The strengthening of senior management will allow us to continue to drive our long-term plans forward and deliver shareholder value. We welcome Michael Hitchcock to our leadership team. With his experience in the fast fashion sector, he will quickly integrate to our company,” said CEO Philip Mountford.

“Ron has undertaken a very significant role in the business in recent years and I am delighted that he now heads our strategy department,” he added.

Hunkemöller announced an aggressive expansion plans for Switzerland last autumn and launched most recently a new HKMX store in Berlin.

The brand has 838 stores in 25 countries and is considered the fastest growing lingerie brand in Europe. The company was founded in Amsterdam in 1886 and sells lingerie, sportswear, swimwear and loungewear.

85% of the company is owned by Carlyle, with the remainder controlled by Stichting HKM Holding.
