E-commerce beauty shopping platform Ipsy has named Fernando Madeira, former president and CEO of Walmart.com, as its new president. Madeira's areas of expertise span commerce, media and technology.

Madeira was most recently the president and CEO of Walmart.com, a role in which he led both the US and Latin American e-commerce platforms for Walmart.

He is also a co-founder of Terra, Brazil's first internet portal. He worked with Terra for 23 years and led tech initiatives including developing the first legal music distribution website and the first internet TV station in Latin America.

“Fernando’s commerce expertise and his deep roots in media are a perfect fit for Ipsy as we continue to scale our media platform and manage the tremendous growth from our e-commerce business," said Ipsy CEO and co-founder Marcelo Camberos in a release.

Ipsy's e-commerce business, which is named Shopper, launched with 20,000 SKUs. Among the 200 brands Ipsy Shopper carries are Bare Minerals, Smashbox Cosmetics, Tarte Cosmetics, Ouai, and Ofra Cosmetics. The e-commerce site has officially launched out of beta and has seen 400% growth since November of 2017.

Camberos describes Ipsy as a "platform for individuals to express their unique beauty, connect with one another, and discover new products, looks and brands that are personal to them."

Ipsy's co-founder and former president Jennifer Goldfarb has transitioned to a new role as executive chairwoman.
