Lacoste appoints Louise Trotter as new creative director

On October 4, Lacoste announced its nomination of Louise Trotter as head of the brand’s creative direction. The British designer was previously creative director of English brand Joseph.

Trotter will be the first woman in Lacoste’s 85-year-history to lead the brand, which is famous for its crocodile motif.

“We are pleased to welcome Louise to our brand. Her visionary approach to lines and materials and her expertise in the creation of highly technical pieces will be real assets that will help us strengthen the positioning of our collections,” said Thierry Guibert, the President of the Lacoste Group.

Trotter will take over from the Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista, who had left the brand in spring. This season, Lacoste presented a collection designed by its creative studio.

“I am delighted to join such a unique, heritage French brand. For 85 years, the modernity of Lacoste’s style has been in its unique fusion of sport and fashion. I am proud to contribute to the writing of a new chapter in its history,” said Trotter.
