Liverpool Shopping Park sees more big name signings

Published
Dec 13, 2017

The new Liverpool Shopping Park has signed up more major names as the retail park segment of the UK retail scene continues to prove the most buoyant among destination types.

Liverpool Shopping Park

New tenants that have just signed on or just opened are taking over 44,000 sq ft in total with a number of them being prominent fashion and beauty chains. They include beauty and health specialist Superdrug, outdoor and leisure clothing and accessories firm Regatta, Foot Asylum/Drome, discounter Wilko, fashion retailer Next, and footwear retailer Clarks.

The new names are all set to open in the Western Quarter, a horseshoe-shaped  space coursing 17 retail units.

The park only opened on October 20 and its first phase is now 85% let. Existing stores there include H&M, Outfit, Boots and River island and the landlord expects to announce three more new tenants early next year.

James Maule-Ffinch of landlord The Derwent Group said: “The opening of Liverpool Shopping Park has really strengthened the city’s out-of-town retail market and these new lettings are testament to the appetite amongst retailers to join the scheme.

“Although some of these lettings won’t turn into store openings until the first part of 2018, they keep positive momentum going on site and give customers plenty of new reasons to keep coming back.”

Retail parks have seen a major transformation in recent years, moving away from the DIY stores and supermarkets that were previously their main tenants and boosting their fashion offer, as well as their leisure options.
