Condé Nast announced this Friday the appointment of Glamour veteran Masha Fedorova as Victoria Davydova’s successor as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Russia.

Masha Fedorova succeeds Victoria Davydovawho stepped down from the role after 20 years with Condé Nast Russia - Instagram: @mashildaglam

Fedorova joined Condé Nast Russia in 2001 as Fashion Editor of GQ and quickly rose to the position of Fashion Director. The graduate from Stroganov Academy of Applied Arts and Industrial Design was then involved in the launch of Glamour Russia, a publication where she went on to work as Fashion Director for six years, before taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief in 2010.

Fedorova will continue to supervise Glamour as Editorial Director until the end of the year.

In a release, Anita Gigovskaya, President of Condé Nast Russia, described Fedorova as “the ideal candidate to now lead Vogue Russia as it continues its dominance of the media landscape”, recalling, “During her 8-year tenure as Editor-in-Chief of Glamour she has contributed excellence and creativity, spearheading significant editorial projects including a fashion shoot with Paralympic Athletes, and addressing the issues surrounding plus sized young women and how they are represented in the media”.

Fedorova is succeeded as Editor-in-Chief of Glamour Russia by Ilyana Erdneeva, who joined the publication in 2013 as Features Editor, having completed a journalism degree at Moscow State University. She went on to serve as Fashion Editor for three years before her most recent appointment which is effective immediately.

Commenting on Erdneeva’s promotion, Gigovskaya stated, “Erdneeva has an innate understanding of the ideas and values of Glamour’s millennial audience, and will bring a fresh outlook to the multi-media brand. Combining print, digital, social, experiential and video touchpoints we look forward to this next phase, further engaging our loyal readers while also attracting a new audience.”

Condé Nast has been active in Russia since 1998 and currently publishes six magazines in the country, namely Vogue, GQ, GQ Style, Tatler, Glamour and AD. These publications have a regular readership of some 2.5 million people, while their online versions attract 4.7 million unique users per month.

Fedorova’s appointment is effective immediately.
