Matchesfashion prepares for global growth with new distribution hub

Published
Sep 25, 2017

Matchesfashion.com, the luxury shopping destination, has announced that it will open a new distribution centre close to Heathrow airport in West London, continuing a rapid expansion that has seen the opening of a concept space in Mayfair, the launch of a creative media hub in East London, and the expansion of its HQ.

Matchesfashion.com

The business, recently acquired by private equity giant Apax for a reported £800m, said the new distribution centre will have the potential with redesign to grow to over 500,000 sq ft.

Planned to open in early 2018, the facilities will enable Matchesfashion.com to handle over 4 million shipments a year by 2020. And its location near Heathrow will mean the brand will have the advantage of speed and delivery, enhancing the service it offers to its global customers. Matchesfashion.com delivers to 176 countries.

“This is a significant evolution of our logistics operation as the business experiences continued growth and achieves increased scale. The development will further strengthen our reputation for the best in class luxury service globally,” commented CEO Ulric Jerome.

The announcement follows the expansion of Matchesfashion’s headquarters at the Shard. The company increased the size of its UK base by 40%, taking its total footprint to 48,000 sq ft.
