Mr Porter to launch Cartier Watches in April

Published

Mr Porter is further expanding its fine watch department with the addition of a curated selection of seven Cartier Watches.

The online fashion destination for men has been building its watches offering over the past year, adding luxury names like Piaget, Baume & Mercier and Nomos Glashütte to a growing list that also includes IWC Schaffhausen, Tag Heuer and Jaeger LeCoultre.

The Cartier deal comes just under a year after its sister site Net-A-Porter welcomed the luxury brand’s timepieces into its online platform.

Both Net-A-Porter and MR Porter are focusing on enriching their multi-brand in-season portfolio with new prestige brands, particularly in the Fine Jewellery and Watches category, which had “strong momentum” in financial year 2016.

The Cartier partnership with MR Porter will begin with seven Cartier Watches from the 2018 Santos de Cartier collection, unveiled at the exclusive showcase of high-end watches SIHH in Geneva in January.

The line-up will include an exclusive model created for the MR Porter customer, featuring a black grained leather strap. It will launch on 5 April, with further collection launches planned for later in the year.

Cartier is owned by Richemont, which also owns many of the fine watch brands already stocked by MR Porter, like Piaget, Jaeger LeCoultre, Baume & Mercier and IWC Schaffhausen.
