According to the organiser of Munich Fabric Start, apparel production and sourcing cannot be considered separately any longer. This thinking has led to the creation by the German fabric and accessories trade show of the new Munich Apparel Source event.

"The textile and fashion industry's requirements in terms of manufacturing processes and sourcing are increasingly sophisticated, as well as highly complex from the logistics point of view. This is why a synergy between complementary, parallel events such as Munich Fabric Start and our new Munich Apparel Source trade show, focusing on production and the supply chain, is necessary," said Wolfgang Klinder, the show's General Manager.

The new trade show will be held in parallel with Munich Fabric Start, from 5th to 7th September. It aims to showcase the products and services of some 200 specialists in production and sourcing from North Africa, Asia and Europe, and will also feature a series of seminars and analyses of industry case studies.

It is a new string to Munich Fabric Start's bow, after the addition of the Bluezone denim section. For the show's latest edition, the organisers reported a 3% rise in visitor numbers.
