Oliver Cabell receives $1.2 million investment to expand to footwear

Luxury goods startup Oliver Cabell announced on Tuesday its expansion into luxury footwear, following a $1.2 million investment from tech entrepreneur Michael Chambers.

Launched in 2015 by Scott Gabrielson, Oliver Cabell offers leather bags and travel goods at a fraction of the price of typical luxury accessories that businesses mark up in price at retail.

Earlier this year, Oliver Cabell raised $500,000 to launch a sneaker collection. The footwear was produced in Spain and was crafted with Italian leather much like the label’s bags. The startup is launching its first shoe on November 14 and plans to launch a new style on its website every week.

In addition, Oliver Cabell is launching this spring a limited edition Playboy branded footwear collection. The label will also co-brand its shoes with the Wimbledon tennis tournament, skateboarder Steve Berra, and hip-hop artist Ta-Ku, among others.
