SMCP reconfigures its international leadership and its brand leadership in Paris

Published
Aug 27, 2014

The group SMCP has reconfigured its international leadership, as a logical continuation of recent developments. The internal appointments have naturally led to a game of musical chairs, with new appointments at the top of its brands Sandro and Claudie Pierlot in Paris, among others.

Claudie Pierlot fall-winter 2014-15.

And so the group, owned by the American investment firm KKR since June 2013, has appointed two executives to lead its two major subsidiaries. At the beginning of the summer, Dinah Emsalem was appointed chief operating officer of SMCP’s North American division in New York. She has been in charge of the brand Claudie Pierlot since February 2012 and will now be replaced at that position by Isabelle Allouch, the former head of L’Occitane en Provence for France.

The leadership of the group’s other international subsidiary, based in Hong Kong, and naturally geared toward Asia, has been handed over to Stéphane Ledru. Previously brand general manager at Sandro, he will coordinate the development of the group’s three brands in Asia beginning in September.

Jean-Philippe Hecquet will fill the vacancy that Ledru has left behind. Most recently, Hecquet was responsible for worldwide retail operations at the watchmaker Tag Heuer, having also previously worked for Louis Vuitton in the United States and Canada.

In May, Sylvie Colin took over as general manager of Maje. It’s a complete reconfiguration at the head of the brands owned by the group, which itself is presided over by Daniel Lalonde, CEO of SMCP since April.
