Yeezy will return to the fashion week schedule

Kanye West will make his return to New York Fashion Week this season, showing his Yeezy Season 5 collection on Wednesday, February 15th at 5 pm. There is no word as to whether Kanye West will continue his partnership with long-time collaborator Vanessa Beecroft.

The runway presentation will take place at Pier 59 Studios. This venue, a popular one among designers, is a change from the last few seasons of Yeezy presentations. In the past, West has opted for over-the-top and unique locations for his shows. Two seasons ago, West took over Madison Square Garden for a combined concert and show.

Last season, West infamously showed on Roosevelt Island, which still has the fashion world in a flummox. The location was hours away from any other NYFW venue and caused editors and buyers to miss many other scheduled events. The weather did not help. Both attendees and models were wilting under blistering heat, only made by worse by an hours-long delay for the start of the show.

This season's Yeezy show will present at the same time as both the Marchesa and Assembly shows, following the Anna Sui runway and immediately prior to the Thom Browne show. This isn’t the first time that West’s show has overlapped with another designer. West made waves last season when he ignored the pre-set fashion calendar and scheduled his show in the same time slot as several other designers.
