Isabel Marant Show- Men's and Women's Collection Autumn/Winter 2018/19 in Paris (with interview)

Designer: Isabel MarantInspiration: the designer leads us off to the West, the Wild West with a real style, but without leaving behind a relaxed and rock allure, with even a touch of the eighties for the eveningwear. Collection: big enveloping ponchos, pea coats and shirts, notably in leather and fringed suede, high necked jumpers in mohair and faux fur. The Isabel Marant girl is sure of herself and knows her power. The look is affirmed, more so with these boots with metallic ends and thigh-high boots.White lace and English embroidery on a top soften a pair of leather black high-waisted leather trousers. Asymmetric dress with marked shoulders, will immediately make you want to go dancing. For the men, the allure is urban and cool, with shearling jackets and jumpers, whilst they too dare black leather trousers, also available in a quilted version. To note: the details of the accessories, from the very beautiful belts to the big supple bags… plus the presence of top models Kaia Gerber, Gigi Hadid, Anna Ewers, Amber Valletta.Interview with Isabel Marant: I was inspired by the images and aesthetics of the John Cassavetes and Wim Wenders movies but with the cowboy's loose side. For winter, I love huge wool jumpers, but always keeping this delicacy, it’s always the contrast of things which interests me, to have lightness but also something assured, which gives self-confidence, above all, that’s seen through the boots.I like this silhouette of a woman who’s sure of herself, but fragile at the same time, but with these very marked shoulders, immediately that creates a stature that I always find interesting. For the boys more so than the girls, we need true clothes, they’re far less likely to be fashion consumers, so we have to give them true and authentic clothes, that they can keep and that they can mix with other things. So it’s true that I really work a lot on the knitwear, the jackets, because after, with some good denim, we’re happy, it works really well.
