Adidas and TFL expand collaboration after first drop sells out

Published
Nov 30, 2018

Adidas and Transport for London are taking their collaboration to the next level by releasing 10 new styles of trainers inspired by London Underground lines.

The first drop saw three Adidas styles, Temper Run, Continental 80 and ZX 500RM, get a makeover - Adidas

It comes after a first collaboration, involving a limited-edition run of 500 pairs of shoes to celebrate the Oyster card’s 15th anniversary, proved a massive hit with hundreds of shoppers queuing for hours to get their hands on the trainers.

Hours after the sale at the end of October, the three trainer styles, which retailed for £80 and came with a free Oyster card, were being offered for more than triple the price on eBay.

Now, Adidas and TFL have announced that ten new styles will be released in two drops starting on 8 December. The first collection will centre around the Elizabeth tube line, whose opening date has been delayed until autumn 2019, with four signature Adidas styles including the Stan Smith, Samba Rose, Falcon and Gazelle receiving a purple makeover.

There will be a second drop on 10 December, including six new versions of the brand’s Continental 80s styles which have been reimagined to pay tribute to 12 London Underground lines.

The pairs will be available in Adidas stores and select retailers, as well as online, from £75.
