After adding extra day, Harrogate Fashion Week takes more space

Having earlier announced an extra day for its summer edition, Harrogate Fashion Week (HFW) is also expanding into a fourth hall at Harrogate Convention Centre for the show (30 July-1 August).

An extra 1,600 sq m of space means the event can now accommodate a waiting list of brands, according to co-organiser Wendy Adams.

Last month, HFW said due to growing demand from both exhibitors and buyers, it has seen Harrogate Fashion Week’s summer edition extended to now open across three full days.

The increased support means HFW “is now a major player in the fashion trade calendar”, including “the largest collection of womenswear brands under one roof, a substantial amount of special occasion wear, a great footwear offering and increasingly more accessory brands”, according to Adams and co-organiser Sarah Moody.

The extension comes as trade shows bounce back strongly from the devastation of the pandemic. There had been concerns that with the industry having discovered the convenience of digital buying and with travel budgets often being cut, trade shows might struggle to return to their former strength. But this doesn’t seem to have happened.

And historically, Harrogate has been a popular venue for womenswear trade shows.

Adams also confirmed that over 90% of exhibitors had rebooked their stands after the February event, including Foil, Pomodoro, Lizabella, Marble, Sahara, Bariloche, Dolcezza and Rino & Pelle.

New brands to see at this season’s show include Yest, Golle Haug, Junge, Maria Bellentani, Zoe, Victoria Charles Headpieces, Eliza Gracious, Walk in Pitas, Suzie Blue, Dibia, Meri Esca, PINNS,  Rainbow Club, Le Comte, Zhrill, Berek, Haven, eb&ive, EsQuala, Dream Handprint Apparel, Fuego, Mansted, Thanny, Callaghan, Traffic People, Thro’backs by Nique, Ubu and the Godske Group.
