BFC to illustrate LFW social media engagement with new project

Published
Sep 13, 2018

The British Fashion Council has teamed up with creative innovation agency Holition, Google, Condé Nast and Pulsar to illustrate how social media and news outlets react to 12 major fashion topics before, during and after London Fashion Week.

Aimed at showing the global impact of London Fashion Week, the visual display will focus on the topics of sustainability, model health, the luxury & streetwear sector, designer & production heritage, emerging talent, diversity in the industry and innovation.

The visuals will be presented in the form of a tree with roots and branches, showcasing the most talked-about topics collected from social media channels and digital publications like Vogue. In addition to measuring social media mentions of particular topics, the ‘Blossoming Fashion Conversation’ visualisation will also split data by global regions, revealing the global reach of a topic.

The data visualisation will be showcased in a special installation at The Store X, 180 Strand from 14 September, coinciding with the opening of London Fashion Week. It will be on display until the end of London Fashion Week Festival on 23 September.
