After setting a record in the last edition, with 370 exhibitors, 70% of them from outside Spain, the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week wants to boost its status as the leading global event in the bridal fashion sector, and is increasing its focus on foreign markets.

The Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will take place from April 23 to 28 - BBFW

The event is scheduled from April 23 to 28 2019, and will once again combine four days of catwalk shows - the first four - with a trade show held from April 26 to 28 at the Barcelona Trade Fair's Montjuïc exhibition centre.

For the coming edition, the bridal fashion event will boost its internationalisation drive, with a strategy focused on the USA and Latin America, and also designed to tap China’s huge commercial potential and Japan’s dynamic, trend-driving market. Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Russia and other Eastern European countries are also relevant markets for the Catalan event.

In the 2018 edition, the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week featured a star-studded show by designer Reem Acra, and brought together 370 exhibitors and over 21,000 visitors from 90 countries.

"These results are an endorsement for us, and they encourage us to continue creating the best business, networking and fashion event for bridal industry brands,” said the event’s Director Estermaria Laruccia.

According to forecasts by Global Industry Analysts, the bridal fashion market will be worth $80 billion in 2020.
