Bitmoji treats users with digital designer clothes

Published
Oct 22, 2015

The popular app, which enables users to create personalized emojis, has launched its newest venture, Bitmoji Fashion, in collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman and W Magazine.

A digital dream closet for both male and female audiences will be now available to the apps’ users. 35 outfits from the fashion industry’s most coveted designer brands will be featured in Bitmoji’s app, including looks from American designers Joie and Tanya Taylor and labels carried by retailer Begdorf Goodman, including Diane Von Furstenberg, Rodarte, Michael Kors Collection, Zac Posen, and Kenzo.

The digital mall will also offer looks by Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen, curated by the fashion publication W Magazine.

"We are big Bitmoji fans at Bergdorf Goodman, and are thrilled to be the official retail partner in the Bitmoji Fashion revolution," said Joshua Schulman, President of Bergdorf Goodman & NMG International.

The extended wardrobe, which is planned to grow with more outfits over time, speaks to the growing desire for everyday digital interactions to be richer, more visual and evocative of one's personality. It will allow people to add personal style to their avatar as they dress themselves in looks currently in stores.

"With the launch of Bitmoji Fashion, we're taking people's avatars another step closer to being a true extension of who they are in real life. This is an exciting evolution for us as we push the boundaries of messaging even further," said Ba Blackstock, Bitmoji CEO & Founder.

The free Android and iOS app will release new outfits on a regular basis, including iconic looks from movies, TV shows, sports, tied to times of the year and key trends.
