Delta Apparel anticipates double-digit sales growth to cap year

Published
Oct 4, 2019

Greenville, South Carolina-based activewear and basics company Delta Apparel, Inc. revealed preliminary sales figures for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended September 28, 2019, on Thursday, predicting strong growth driven by its DTG2Go and Salt Life businesses.

Delta Apparel has seen particularly strong growth at DTG2Go and Salt Life - Instagram: realsaltlife

Delta expects its total fourth-quarter net sales to be in the range of $104 million to $106 million, representing an increase of between 12% and 14% from the $92.9 million reported by the company in the prior-year period, with strong organic growth being registered across all of its businesses.

Full-year sales are forecast to be between $428 million to $430 million, an increase of between 8% and 9% from fiscal 2018’s total sales of $395.5 million.

This annual growth is due in large part to improvements at the company’s DTG2Go print business, which has been expanding through investments in print capacity, new technology and additional facilities. Through these initiatives, Delta was able to achieve its goal of 20% organic growth in the business.

Furthermore, sales at the company’s Salt Life brand have accelerated this year as it has pushed forward with product expansions and gained momentum in both national and regional retailers.

Delta’s activewear team was also able to achieve growth in 2019, despite facing a range of challenges resulting from changes implemented in the product mix of its private label business.

“All of our teams have done a great job of executing on our growth initiatives and leveraging our scale and vertical platform,” commented Delta Apparel Chairman and CEO Robert W. Humphreys in a release. “We are confident in the opportunities we see for continued profitable growth.”

Delta Apparel plans to release its complete fourth-quarter and fiscal 2019 results after market close on November 1, 2019.
