Giorgio Armani is going to stage its very first cruise collection show. The Italian luxury label has chosen Tokyo to present its main brand’s 2020 cruise collection on May 24, FashionNetwork.com learned from a Japanese source.

Details about the show have not been revealed yet, but it will give Giorgio Armani the opportunity to fête the renovation of its Armani/Ginza Tower, the label's Tokyo flagship store located in the chic Ginza district, which is set to re-open on March 21. It isn't the first time that Giorgio Armani shows in the Japanese capital. The label held a show there in 2007, the year in which the Armani/Ginza Tower was inaugurated.

Japan and its capital continue to arouse much interest with luxury labels and designers. Last November, Valentino staged a two-day event in Tokyo culminating in the co-ed show for its pre-Fall 2019 collection, celebrating the label’s revamped Ginza store. In the same month, Louis Vuitton showed for the first time in Tokyo with its menswear pre-collection, designed by Kim Jones.
