Givenchy announces return to the menswear calendar

Published
Oct 25, 2018

Givenchy is looking to boost its menswear. The LVMH-owned luxury brand has announced its return to the Paris Fashion Week Men's calendar in 2019 in a press release, promising a by-appointment menswear presentation for 16th January, while its runway comeback is planned for the following season, in June.

Up until now, British designer Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy's creative director since March 2017, has preferred to focus her efforts on women's ready-to-wear and haute couture, presenting her men's and womenswear collections in coed shows and even debuting the house's first men's haute couture pieces.

But after three seasons of coed shows, it seems the moment has come for the brand to give its men's apparel a platform of its own once more. The couples concept seen at the label's most recent runways will nonetheless be maintained, meaning that womenswear shows will continue to feature some menswear pieces and vice versa.
