Hermès opens third store in London's Harrods

Published
Apr 22, 2021

Hermès has opened an entirely new space inside London’s Harrods, dedicated exclusively to women’s product. The store celebrates the “depth and richness” of its female-focused collections”.

Hermès

“Located on the first floor and inspired by the rounded and organic forms of the listed windows that decorate the façade,” it’s the brand’s third addition to the luxury department store, where it has been present since 1991. It was designed by Parisian architecture agency RDAI.

The company said the space “feels like a home, an expanded dressing room with a warm and feminine spirit. An ideal backdrop to peruse all the métiers of the women’s universe, including ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and jewellery collections as well the new Hermès Beauty métier”.

London — which is usually a tourist magnet — is a key market for the brand as the multiple spaces it occupies in Harrods demonstrate. It also has its own standalone stores on luxury thoroughfares Bond Street and Sloane Street, as well as within the Royal Exchange and at London’s Selfridges. The new opening shows that Hermès clearly expects tourists to return in strength to the city at some point.
