Hugo Boss comms chief exits, promotes Westermann

Hugo Boss has announced the imminent departure of its long-standing Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Hjördis Kettenbach. She’s leaving the company “at her own request” at the end of this month following a 20-year career at the upscale German fashion giant.

During her tenure, she’s been responsible for the company’s global corporate communications activities and worked closely with several CEOs, as well as acting as the group’s spokesperson and leading its international Arts Sponsorship programme.

She clearly has a new role lined up but didn’t say where she was headed, although she did say that she’ll “always remain connected to Hugo Boss”.

She’ll be replaced by Carolin Westermann with effect from October 1, who’s been with the firm for more than 12 years in different areas of corporate comms.

Westermann will report to Christian Stöhr, who will now be promoted to Senior Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications of parent company Hugo Boss AG.

“I am pleased that with Carolin Westermann, we can appoint an excellent internal candidate to the position of Head of Corporate Communications,” said managing board spokesperson Yves Müller. “She draws on long Hugo Boss experience and brings outstanding expertise in the area of Corporate Communications”.
