Following the success of GemGenève's first edition, the international jewelry and precious stones fair has scheduled a new festivities to run May 9 to 12 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. Professionals from the industry will gather to exchange around a common passion -- gemstones and jewelry of unique exception.

Last year marked the very first edition of this 'intimate' show dedicated to jewels and gems, organized by dealers and traders. Launched by industry insiders, renowned Geneva-based jewelers and dealers Thomas Faerber and Ronny Totah, the fair showcases all facets of the business, from traders and sellers to creators, jewelers and diamond dealers as well as other gemologists.

'Find and Feel'

While the 2018 edition invited visitors to "Seek and Find," this new edition will be seen in a new light under the theme "Find and Feel." A theme that will offer the opportunity to discover, scrutinize and even touch extremely rare stones and jewelry and to soak up the experience of seasoned professionals.

"In an increasingly digital age, nothing can replace the experience of touching, handling gems and jewels, learning first-hand from acknowledged and impassioned experts," explains Ronny Totah.

Antique jewels, rare stones and contemporary designers

More than 180 exhibitors are expected for the 2019 edition and not only will this event allow professionals, private buyers and collectors to discover antique jewellery, rarities, exceptional stones, and spectacular pieces of jewelry, but it will also allow them to be at the heart of educational exchanges on the world of jewelry by means of conferences, seminars, and round tables.

This year, the show will once again put the contemporary scene in the limelight with the Designer Vivarium -- titled last year 'Designer Showcase.' The space, which is chaired by the jewelry historian Vivienne Becker, will be a springboard for designers from around the world with a unique creative vision and style. Visitors will be able to discover Nicholas Lieou, Alexandra Jefford, Ming Lampson, and Tatiana Verstraeten's creations.

The very first edition of GemGenève, organized in May 2018, welcomed more than 4,300 visitors, half of which came from Europe and International.
