Landsec chair set to "retire", Bluewater operator seeking replacement

Landsec is on the lookout for a new chair. The vacancy arises because Cressida Hogg is set to retire next year from her positions of both chair and director of the commercial property giant. She was appointed as a non-executive director in January 2014 and chair in July 2018.

Its Nomination Committee, led by the senior independent director Edward Bonham Carter, has commenced the process to appoint a successor, supported by external consultants. 

Hogg is expected to step down no later than Landsec's next AGM in July 2023. However, she has been appointed a non-executive director and chair designate of defence giant BAE Systems from 1 November and will be named as chair subject to election at the BAE’s AGM next May.

Landsec CEO Mark Allan said: “I would like to thank Cressida for her invaluable contribution and leadership during her time with Landsec. The business has benefited considerably from her broad business experience and, from a personal perspective, I have been grateful for her support and guidance since being appointed CEO a little over two years ago.”

Hogg added: “I know I will be leaving the company in a robust position with a strong leadership team and board. I look forward to working with my appointed successor to ensure a smooth transition.”
