Lyle & Scott to open at London Designer Outlet

Published
Jun 24, 2021

Lyle & Scott is to open its first store in the UK’s capital with a debut at London Designer Outlet (LDO). It follows a number of labels that have signed up for an LDO shop since pandemic restrictions were eased.

London Designer Outlet

The Wembley Park outlet mall said the British menswear brand joins its premium fashion offering and will occupy more than 800 sq ft. It will be its only destination in London and the brand’s only outlet store to open this year in the UK.

The 150-year-old heritage label will be reaching out to an affluent catchment that includes North London and the Home Counties and joins brands including Guess, Kurt Geiger, Dune, Replay, Levi’s, The North Face, Vans, Puma, Adidas, and Nike.

LDO has shown itself able to attract new names even during the pandemic and last year it signed Police for its first store in the capital, along with handbag and accessories retailer Radley and other international fashion names.

The outlet sector has performed particularly well in the last few years, both before the pandemic and during it. And it seems to be one of the segments that’s recovering fastest with reports from other outlet operators, both in the UK and Europe, suggesting that it’s attracting strong footfall and plenty of new tenants.

LDO is managed by specialist outlet operator Realm and is part of Wembley Park’s multi-billion pound transformation by Quintain surrounding the world-famous National Stadium.

Christine Grace, Leasing Director at Realm, said: “London Designer Outlet has maintained impressive momentum throughout the pandemic, signing leases with and opening the doors to new brands. It’s a reflection of the urban outlet centre’s open air design, premium fashion and retail, vibrant F&B and excellent guest service that every time we have reopened post-lockdowns, people have flocked back.”
