Italian-Brazilian designer Paula Cademartori is cutting ties with OTB, the fashion group founded by Renzo Rosso, to take control of her eponymous label. The move puts an end to a  partnership that started three years ago.

“I would like to thank OTB for the commitment and support over the last few years. It was an important collaboration for my professional growth, from which I learned a lot. It was a pleasure to work with Renzo, a person and an entrepreneur I admire. The time has now come for my brand to explore new independent horizons.”

OTB became an investor in Paula Cademartori in 2016, when the handbag, accessories and footwear brand joined a portfolio of brands that also includes Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor&Rolf.

“Paula’s determination will allow her to reach new business goals, and I wish her all the success she deserves,” Renzo Rosso, OTB group president, said in a statement.

The Italian group, which also owns Staff International and Brave Kid, reported revenues of $1.43 billion in 2018, while losses reached $58.5 million. OTB is now ploughing more than €200 million ($222m) into its portfolio with the aim of accelerating the growth of its brands.

This lead to the company increasing its shareholding in Viktor&Rolf to 70% in recent months, as well as the acquisition of a stake in Amiri, a luxury brand founded by Mike Amiri in 2014.
