Pull&Bear and Zara launch winter sport collections

Inditex is expanding into winter sports. From Pull&Bear's collaboration with the sports equipment manufacturer Head to Zara's new ski collection, the Spanish conglomerate's brands have presented their first winter collections suited for the snow.

The collection will be available online from December 9 and in select stores from December 12 - Head by Pull&Bear

Pull&Bear's latest venture is all about snowboarding. The group's young fashion brand has teamed up with Head, an Austrian company specializing in the production of alpine skiing, tennis and paddle equipment. As a result, they have created a sports capsule made up of technical garments for men and women.

The collection is available in neutral tones such as white or ecru, as well as in bold colours such as red or black, and consists of fashion-forward garments designed to be worn for practicing sports or after snowboarding.

The women's garments include a limited edition snowsuit, while the men's offer includes fleece-lined garments as well as technical jacket and trouser sets. They are all equipped with thermo-glued finishes and are Polartec, 3M, Thinsulate or Scotchgar certified. The collection also offers accessories such as hats and headbands.

The capsule will be available online from December 9. It will also be launched from December 12 in select European stores near ski resorts, such as in Andorra, Switzerland, Austria, France and Luxembourg. In Spain, the collection will be available at the Portal de l'Àngel store in Barcelona; on Gran Vía in Bilbao; at the Plaza de Lugo store in A Coruña; at the Parque Comercial Nevada in Granada; and in Madrid, at the Plaza Norte, Preciados, Hermosilla and Xanadú shopping malls.

The "Ski collection" includes accessories such as boots, ski goggles or helmets - Zara

For its part, Zara is continuing to multiply its projects after the opening of its new megastore in the center of Valencia, and is participating in this winter adventure. Simultaneously to Pull&Bear's announcement, the company has launched its "Ski collection" for women, already available online and in a selection of 25 Zara stores.

With a price range that goes from 25.95 euros for a black thermal T-shirt to 169 euros for a deep green down jacket, the collection also includes pieces such as pants, overalls or dungarees, all made in technical fabrics and available in a color palette dominated by black and white. In addition, the line also features accessories such as padded boots for 79.95 euros, specialized ski goggles for 200 euros, or a helmet, available in black or white, priced at 300 euros.

These ventures into sports come after the Oysho chain, initially dedicated to home and indoor apparel, developed a broad offering of technical garments by positioning itself in the sports segment, offering premium designs at affordable prices. The brand launched its first ski collection in 2019.

Both retailers are part of the Inditex group's brand portfolio, along with Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Lefties. According to its latest financial results, the Galician group increased its turnover by 25% in the first half of its current fiscal year, ending July 31, 2022, reaching 14.8 billion euros.
