Puma creates chief sourcing officer role

Published
Jan 29, 2019

German sports brand Puma has promoted Anne-Laure Descours to the newly created position of chief sourcing officer.

Anne-Laure Descours has been named Puma's new chief sourcing officer - Puma

Descours is currently global director of development and sourcing at Puma, overseeing the product development of all global apparel and accessories since she joined the company in 2012.

She has a solid background in the sourcing industry, having previously worked for major organisations such as Li & Fung and Otto International, all based in Hong Kong.

In her new role, she will be responsible for sustainability within the Puma Group and join the management board on 1 February.

Additionally, the sportswear manufacturer announced that Lars Radoor Sørensen is stepping down from his role as chief operating officer at the end of January to pursue other interests. He was in charge of sourcing, IT and logistics, and the latter two will be reporting to chief financial officer Michael Lämmermann following his departure.

Puma says sustainability is one of its key values, and has set itself ten sustainability targets by 2020, including cutting all hazardous chemicals from its supply chain. The firm works with suppliers in Cambodia, China and Vietnam, among others.
