Puma names new regional general manager for Europe and EEMEA

German sportswear company Puma has promoted Arne Freundt to the role of regional general manager for Europe and EEMEA as Martyn Bowen leaves the company.

Arne Freundt is Puma's new regional general manager for Europe and EEMEA - Puma

In his new position, Freundt will be responsible for the management of the brand in Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He is promoted from the role of global director of retail and e-commerce, a position he has held since 2015.

The executive first joined Puma in 2011 as head of global strategy, where he was in charge of the company’s transformation in Europe.

Effective immediately, Freundt is taking over from Martyn Bowen, who is stepping down from the role after more than two decades at the company to pursue other interests.

Puma was owned by luxury goods group Kering until last year, when the French conglomerate decided to spin off the sports brand to its shareholders to focus solely on luxury.

One of the best-known sports brands in the world, Puma made an EBITDA profit of €315 million in 2017 on sales of €4.1 billion. The company, founded in 1948, employs more than 13,000 people worldwide.
