Puma to bring back swimwear for 2020

After a four year break from the pool, Puma is engineering a return to the swimwear category. Due to launch in 2020, the new collection will be the German sportswear brand’s first swimwear range since 2016.

PUMA

The collection is aimed at both swimming enthusiasts and those who want to look good in the water, introducing everything from swimsuits, bikinis, board shorts, and swim trunks to rash vests in a variety of colours and styles.

“With this collection, we celebrate the urban pool, which comes in all shapes and sizes,” said Jutta Brenneisen, head of product at Puma.

“Like the tide, style preferences are constantly changing in swimwear and we believe that we have created a collection to meet the needs of our fashion-conscious consumers,” she continued.

In line with Puma’s commitment to move towards more sustainable materials, all woven swim shorts in the collection are made from 100% recycled polyester.

The brand is using Repreve polyester, a performance fibre made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles, to deliver on this promise.

Sustainable materials and innovations will continue to play an important role in Puma’s swimwear collections going forward, the retailer said.

The new range will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from February 2020 through selected retailers as well as the brand's own stores and global online shop.
