Roberto Cavalli: Carlo di Biagio again COO

Published
May 20, 2015

Acquired last month by Italian private equity fund Clessidra aided by Asian investors, the brand Roberto Cavalli is reconstituting its teams. Its new CEO, Renato Semerari, has wasted no time in seeking to reenlist Carlo di Biagio to his former position as the brand’s COO.

Di Biagio was recruited in 2009 as COO alongside Gianluca Brozzetti to revive the brand following the 2008 financial crisis. After five years of extensive restructuring, both executives left the group early in 2014, at a time when Roberto Cavalli was entering into deeper discussions with potential buyers.

Now in his sixties, di Biagio previously worked for 16 years at the US multinational Procter & Gamble in the financial sector. He also served as CEO of the processed meats company Cesare Fiorucci, and then at the motorcycle company Ducati and the scooter manufacturer Vectrix in Europe.
