The decision has been made. Colette will close its doors indefinitely in December after 20 years of success. Situated in the heart of Paris luxury, at number 213 rue Saint-Honoré, the location is one to be coveted. Saint Laurent is already in discussions to take the prestigious address, the Kering group brand confirmed to FashionNetwork.com.

The Colette store space is a covetable option for brands to take over - DR

"Over the last 20 years, Colette has been a project and a destination truly symbolic and prestigious in Paris... it is natural for us to discuss the opportunity of these incredible locations in order to give them a second lease of life," said Saint Laurent CEO Francesca Bellettini, in a note.

"We are in talks with Saint Laurent and we feel proud that a brand so prestigious, which we have regularly collaborated over the years, would want take over our address. We are delighted in the great interest that Saint Laurent has showed in the project, which could lead to a great opportunity for our employees," wrote Colette, in a note on its Instagram account.

Saint Laurent hasn't delivered for now any details on what it would like to do with the space; one that is very symbolic in the fashion world.

The store would allow the maison nevertheless to later on consolidate its presence in Paris, a city where it already has five standalone stores. These include 32 and 38 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, rue de Grenelle, place Saint Sulpice and avenue Montaigne in Paris.
