Sies Marjan launches first ever men's collection

New York City-based fashion label Sies Marjan launched on Monday its first ever men’s collection on its website, Matchesfashion and at Barneys New York.

The 14-piece collection is an extension of the label’s fall 2017 collection, featuring fabrics and colors from the women’s collection such as textured coats, shirts and trousers in pale pink and sea foam green, long coats in navy and dark brown, velvet pieces in navy, and a bold pink turtleneck.
 
Founder and designer Sander Lak said that his personal wardrobe inspired the design direction of the collection. “The men’s capsule collection is based on staples from my wardrobe,” said Lak. “It’s what I wear and how I dress everyday.”

Lak launched Sies Marjan in February 2016 after having studied at Central Saint Martins in London and ArtEZ in The Netherlands, and having worked at Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Balmain under Christophe Decarnin, and at Dries Van Noten as head designer.
 
The designer launched the first ever Sies Marjan footwear collection in fall 2017 and was nominated for the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent at the 2017 CFDA Awards.
