Warehouse to launch Ashish collab for sequin-focused party season

Published
Oct 10, 2018

Ashish Gupta is continuing his tradition of mixing his ultra-expensive luxury business with an approach that also takes in more widely distributed pieces at lower price points and next month will launch a collab with retailer Warehouse.

Targeting party season sales, the 14-piece collection will launch early in November and will feature his signature sequins-with-everything style.

And just like the sequin-encrusted Halpern collab that Topshop is launching next month, these pieces aren’t for anyone seeking subtlety with their party looks. The hero pieces are an outsized yellow trench coat and a shimmering catsuit.

But with Ashish’s regular prices hitting £1,000+, a range priced from just £35 is likely to resonate with the UK consumers who studies indicate will be extremely budget-focused this party season.

Ashish himself has previously collaborated with Topshop on more affordable collections (in a deal that lasted several years) and last year linked with River Island’s Design Forum initiative for a gender-neutral collection.

For the Warehouse collab, he told Vogue that he “wanted to create a really signature capsule collection with lots of sequins, strong clean shapes, dramatic colours - empowering clothes, very classic pieces that are really special, but also fun to wear, and easy to mix into any wardrobe.”
