Who's Next fuses fashion and accessories for January edition

After many years running side by side with Première Classe at the Porte de Versailles, the Who’s Next trade show will strike out alone for its upcoming edition. This coming January, the WSN Développement event will be presented under a single banner, “Who’s Next”. This development does not mean that the trade show will lose its accessories section but that it will move ahead independently mixing both accessories and fashion together instead of holding a separate trade show.

The upcoming January 2019 edition of Who's Next - Who's Next

“The idea is not to weaken one trade show or the other but the fact is that we have two strong brands: Who’s Next at Porte de Versailles and Première Classe at the Tuileries. By simplifying and allowing each event its own niche, we will actually reinforce them,” said Frédéric Maus, the co-CEO of WSN. Première Classe will always remain the organiser’s reference show and second session, having opened its doors last season to showcase ready to wear.

Who’s Next will move forward its schedule to be held from January 18 to 21, 2019, with a format that will reflect its new focus. Accessories will no longer be gathered in just one area, they will be mixed together with clothing in the event’s halls 3 and 4. “Working in silhouette”, the trade fair aims to be more inspiring for buyers, according to the organiser.

The universe will be a theme of the upcoming edition of Who’s Next. The “Fame” section will run as usual in Hall 2.2 and will be made to resemble a lunar landscape inspired by the upcoming season’s overarching theme -- Club Apollo -- where the energy of disco meets the cosmos. If visitors choose not to enter via the Fame section, they may conversely enter through Hall 3, the new “What’s Up” section. The area will see a host of fashion and accessories brands brought together for their urban, eclectic, streetwear, and vintage aesthetics.

The trade show will launch another new category in January called “Inside” that will constitute a selection of lifestyle products that focus on “interiors”. This covers interior décor, scents, athleisure and even a bit of lingerie. The section will be located in part of Hall 3 and will lead into the guest designers section. Four designers, not yet announced, will fill an apartment and set up their own inspiring room, each bringing an inspiring piece to furnish the space with. Two partners will lend their support to this venture: Bénéfique teas and La Trésorerie, a concept store which is situated on the rue du Château-d’Eau in Paris’ 10th arrondissement. The idea of the space will be to encourage buyers to take their time to browse.

Finally, two initiatives launched last September, Villa Beauté and Fine Jewellery, have been confirmed and will hold their second edition and strengthen their respective offerings. Villa Beauté will showcase natural and K-beauty products and Fine Jewellery will showcase jewellery in the mid-price range that is both luxurious and accessible.

“All of this is a logical extension of what we started last season with our vision for Who’s Next, the world’s largest concept store,” said Maus. With this upcoming edition, Who’s Next aims to clarify its message under a single global banner.
